I'm Bryant De Luna-Peralta. I build web and iOS apps, and I'm moving toward machine learning and math research.

I studied computer science and mathematics at UNC Charlotte, then taught high school math before turning back to research.

Now

I'm currently studying and relearning some textbooks as I continue my IRLS research, and eventually plan to start a new research project in machine learning optimization.

Experience

  1. Math Teacher Aug 2025 - Nov 2025

    Greene Central High School, Snow Hill, NC

    Taught foundational mathematics and Math 1 to about 75 students. Designed lesson plans and assessments aligned with standards, and analyzed performance data to find learning gaps.

  2. Instructional Assistant Aug 2021 - Dec 2024

    UNC Charlotte, Computer Science

    Gave technical guidance and coding best practices, graded for accuracy and efficiency, and held office hours on programming concepts and debugging, often bridging math and programming.

  3. Undergraduate Researcher May 2023 - Aug 2023

    UNC Charlotte

    Researched the IRLS algorithm, improving efficiency for structured optimization problems. Analyzed algorithm behavior and documented the implementation.

  4. Tutor May 2023 - Aug 2023

    AmeriCorps / STEMCorps, La Grange, NC

    Over 500 hours of individual and group math tutoring (Algebra, Geometry, Integrated Math) for middle and high school students.
